THE LOCAL MARKET
Although my thesis project focuses on the branding of this company and the community that we are building instead of the long term goal of a booking agency and music venue, we began looking into the local Chicago market to see what the venue market looks like. Here are our findings as of now.
Out of 40 venues researched in the Chicago area, 2 of them had women ownership.
However, these women were not the sole proprietor and owned it with their husbands. They were also not branded as a "woman owned venue", they had owned the space for 10 or more years.
